CSIM & COVID 19

We are happy to inform you that few CSIM students are working along with the Government and Corporation and providing relief to the poorer sections of our society.

Experts say that this months-long isolation will take its toll on people's mental health. In earlier instances of natural disasters (earthquake or tsunami or floods) training in Lay Counselling was offered to social science students and volunteers were assigned at disaster affected locations to offer counseling to affected families. But, the present COVID situation is unique where priority has been to ask people to stay home and restrict interaction. Therefore, offering counseling to the COVID affected families is a challenge.

While there are several ways of managing the lockdown period, the best is to spend time in reading and learning something new. Being a learning platform, CSIM has created a series of short videos on various topics. Here are a few:

  • Dr C. Kumarbabu, Psychiatrist, gives a few pointers on how to stay healthy - physically and mentally - and manage the COVID lockdown period effectively (English Version).https://youtu.be/Olg8d1WkQBo
